Mr. Beast once again gave the world a chance to win some money to solve a riddle that was claimed to be the hardest in the world, but the internet got their thinking caps on and solved the unsolvable in just mere 8 hours.
With his last finger on the phone challenge, Mr. Beast was able to create a massive worldwide challenge that over a million people participated in for the grand prize of $20,000 which went to four lucky winners. Now after teaming up with the battle royale giant Apex Legends, another challenge was thrown to the world for a chance to win $100,000. It’s like Mr. Beast is living his life in creative mode.
On July 29, Mr. Beast announced on Twitter that he and his team have been coming up with the hardest riddle in the world for over a month and you had to be “the smartest man in the world” to solve it. He also stated in the tweet that it is possible the riddle does not get solved at all because it is that hard.
Another tweet on July 31st containing an explainer video and saying that whoever solves it first gets to be in a video with him.
The explainer video was filled with information on how to solve the riddle along with a lot of random clues such as breaking a glass vase and ramming a golfing cart while screaming your name on the top of your lungs into a wall made out of toy blocks. It also had a thanks sponsor Apex Legends because, well, it had to. The video contained the link to the first step in the 26 stepped riddle to continue with the challenge.
Let’s go step by step into how to solve the riddle:
Step 1
The first step took you to a video which contained 9 youtube URLs in the description, and the challenger had to figure out which one was the right one. So basically, keep on clicking on each URL till you get to the right one. It was the 5th if you’re wondering.
Step 2
Step 2 took you to another video which was almost the same as step 1, but Mr. Beast said he wants to weed some of the people out, so instead of giving the links in the description, the 10 URLs flashed on screen for a while and you had to manually enter the URLs in the browser search bar to get to them. Not exactly a good weed out plan when you have some of the best minds on the internet working on the riddle. The shortest way to do this was to copy the youtube URL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= and then after the “=” keep adding the unique video ID till one works. It was the seventh one out of ten this time.
Step 3
Step 3 took you to a video which was seven and a half minutes of Mr. Beast eating cereal but at the 6:04 mark, he says there is a link that will flash on the bottom left corner of the screen for about a second and you had to watch enter that manually to get on to the next step.
Step 4
The URL was paperscissorsmadeofrock.com which takes you to a video of two guys playing rock paper scissors for about 12 minutes. The video had Morse code sprinkled all over it so you had to decode it which spelled out saveourbowls.com.
Step 5, 6 and 7
Saveourbowls.com takes you to the step 5 youtube video. This step is just a video showing that you have to click on the link in the description mrriddle.com/register to enter your name, email id, and your country. This was done for reasons so people don’t cheat and so you can know if the country you’re from is eligible for the competition. There were about 8 countries where the competition was legal for, well, legal reasons.
After entering the details, you are taken to a phone emulator which is basically what will be used to make calls and text to help you solve the riddle. The video also gives you the third Code Letter which is B and by now you have ZQB in the 6-letter code.
Step 8 and 9
Step 8 is where things start to kick off in a ridiculous but interesting way. Once in the phone emulator, there is a voicemail from Mr. Beast asking “What can you plant a 100 million of in your friend’s backyard and also Baby Yoda is cute.” After that going to Mr. Beasts Instagram account you can see he is following an account called BabyYodaRiddles. Going on that account there is a link in the description that takes you to a page with literally hundreds of QR codes of which one was the right one. To speed things up someone on Reddit posted a script that did this for you instead of you having to scan all of them one by one.
Step 10, 11 and 12
The right QR code takes you to a link where you see Mr. Beast offering you a cookie. This is a reminder to go to the explainer video where you see a whiteboard with a math problem written on it and at the bottom, it says solve to skip to step 10 right before you see a guy wearing a twitter hat and eating a cookie. Another thing that this did was made people dig up a twitter account called mrcookieishere which had one tweet with a URL.
The URL sends a text to your emulator phone which says count to the 6,969th entry on the phone. This became too tasking again and someone came up with a script to send you directly to the word. The word is Cub which you text back and get the fourth letter in the key code which is Q so till now ZQBQ. There is also a massive excerpt from the jungle book in the text.
Step 13
When you call Mr. Beast on the emulator phone after step 12, you get a call from him saying, “Well well well, you are doing good, keep up the good work, who do you think is cooler, Chris or me?” The first letter of each word that is said in that sentence is actually a URL. www.yadgkutgwwdytic.com.
Step 14, 15 and 16
The URL takes you to a page that has a video that has some sort of an equation made out of picture solving to a picture of wraith. No idea how, but someone figured out that the equation is pointing for you to go to the URL www.mrriddle.com/wraithhas2much2say.
The URL takes you to a page where you have to complete the saying from wraith “I understand now, they used these Charge Towers to power the island for their……… enter experiments and you get to the next step.
The next step is another fill in the blank where a Bold text says “Does Chris……….? Enter moisturize which is a reference to an old video of Chris covered in moisturizer.
The Rest of the steps
This is getting TLDR so let’s just wrap it up. After two things happen, you receive a text from Mr. Beast where chandler is holding up an Ipad in a Steve Jobs outfit and below it says Code:Freestore. Then you have to call the number 273953436. This number comes from the sign from the numbers written in Mandarin in the explainer video.
Calling the number you get a message to either press 1 to continue or press 2 to hang up. Here enter the letters freestore in the form of numbers and you get William Shakespeare reading something to you from his works.
Next, follow the URL mrriddle.com/Shakespeare wherein a massive word search you have to pick out “Subscribe to Mr.Beast.”
It will take you to a page where there are two numbers. The top one is a phone number and the one below that is what you have to text on that phone number. 839263 to (588) 968–8823.
You get a text back with a URL kingscanyonskulltown.com
This page has the Apex Legends Season 5 launch trailer with a picture of a mailbox and “X 42069= text message icon.
To proceed you have to multiply the number of words in closed captions for the season 5 launch trailer (89) with 42069 which should give you 3744141. Text this number to Mr riddle from your emulator phone then you get a link to play a weird rendition of flappy bird.
Complete that you get to a page where there is a blue button that starts a timer once you hold on it and you have to stop the timer by letting the mouse button go at exactly 69 to win this step. Sounds easy but this is the most diabolical step you will encounter.
After that you get your 6th letter J
Step 25 is still a mystery at this point but completing that will take you to a link where you’ll have to enter the code to win $100,000.
Whew. That concludes that mind boggling weirdness that is Mr.Beast. A lot of people went live with the solving of the riddle and many got so close to solving it before someone else did. Many people teamed up to solve the riddle and split the grand prize amongst themselves.
